Temp Gmail: How to Get a Temporary Gmail Address for Verification Codes

When a sign-up form says “disposable email not allowed”, a temporary gmail.com or icloud.com inbox gets you the code.

Published 25 October 2026

You type a temp mail address into a sign-up form and get "Please use a valid email address". The address was valid; the site just recognised the domain as disposable. The usual fix is an address on a domain no site blocks: gmail.com or icloud.com. That's what people mean by temp Gmail.

What is a temp Gmail address?

It's a working gmail.com mailbox that you use for one sign-up, for the few minutes it takes to receive a verification email. You don't create a Google account yourself or hand over your phone number to Google; the inbox is issued to you ready to receive, and its messages are shown on your dashboard. The same goes for temporary iCloud addresses.

Why sites accept it when they reject other temp mail

Sign-up forms filter by domain. Blocklists contain the thousands of public throwaway domains, but no business can block gmail.com or icloud.com without turning away most real customers. A temporary address on those domains therefore passes the check, and the code arrives like it would for anyone else.

How to get a temporary Gmail for a verification code

  1. Create a free account and add a small balance to your wallet.
  2. Open Temp Mail and search for the site you are signing up for.
  3. Pick the gmail.com (or icloud.com) domain and buy the mailbox.
  4. Paste the address into the sign-up form and request the code.
  5. The code is picked out of the email and shown next to the mailbox, usually within seconds.

Mailboxes are issued per site because the inbox is set up to receive that site's verification email. If the site you need isn't listed, the temp mail page shows every supported site with live prices.

What it costs, and when you pay nothing

  • A temporary gmail.com or icloud.com address costs a few rupees per sign-up.
  • If no email arrives before the mailbox expires (about 20 to 30 minutes), the full amount is refunded automatically.
  • You can cancel before any email arrives and get the money back at once.
  • The mailbox keeps receiving until it expires, so "resend code" still works.

Temp Gmail vs. a free temp mail inbox

If a site accepts any address, the free temp mail inbox costs nothing and is the faster option. Reach for temp Gmail when the form rejects disposable domains, or when you want the best chance of the code arriving first time.

Need a phone number as well?

Many apps verify both an email and a phone number. You can get a virtual number for the SMS OTP from the same wallet, with the same refund rule when no code arrives.

Use it responsibly

Temporary addresses are for privacy and testing. Keep to each site's terms, and for any account you plan to keep long term, switch the email to one you own so you can recover it later.
